Before we get into our recommended approach, we must emphasise there is no magic formula to writing a winning Self-Driving Industry Awards entry.
One previous winner a sent a lengthy five-page submission with multiple supporting documents, while another sent an incredibly brief 150-word product summary!
However, in general, we very much welcome applications which follow this simple 3-step approach:
- Download the official Entry Form
- Choose the right category. A brief description of the expectations in each category can be found on our Categories & Criteria page. If your product or service fits more than one category, please contact us for guidance.
- Around 350-450 words is a good benchmark for the written statement. Remember, the aim is to demonstrate your impact across one or more of our three key criteria: Commercial success, societal benefit, and technical advancement.
Top tips
Further top tips regarding the written statement, include:
- Be clear. Write for industry-savvy readers but avoid overly technical jargon.
- Use visuals. You can include graphs, images, video or charts to show results.
- Tell a story. A strong ‘problem > innovation > impact’ narrative is more memorable.
Your submission should start with a description of your product/service. It should then explain why it is needed and what’s unique about it.
You can use customer or partner testimonials to support your claims and perhaps conclude with how you envisage your solution evolving.
