About Cars of the Future - Autonomous Vehicle Experts

Launched in 2019 by motoring journalist Neil Kennett, Cars Of The Future is on a mission: To chart the development of, and encourage sensible debate about, all aspects of self-driving.

A pivotal moment came in 2020. In lockdown, with the Covid 19 pandemic raging, we were recognised as a CAM Creator by Zenzic, the organisation charged with accelerating UK self-driving in pursuit of a safer, more secure, sustainable, and inclusive transport future.

This led to a series of long-read interviews with senior government and industry figures, and massively broadened our perspective from ‘cars, cars, cars’ to connected and automated mobility.

We have since signed prestigious media partnership agreements with BSI, Cenex, MOVE and Reuters Events, among others, and launched the annual Self-Driving Industry Awards.

Cars Of The Future provides free, independent, thought-provoking news and views about all things self-driving, in the UK and internationally.

We cover on- and off-road autonomous vehicles and their role in the wider CAM ecosystem. We also support net zero technologies (of course!) and active travel.

“I still love cars and driving, however, I firmly believe that CAM will be utterly transformative,” said Kennett in 2023. “It’s a fascinating area with unique selling points, increasingly distinct from traditional automotive.”
